South Carolina Social Studies Academic Standards

A note regarding these standards

The South Carolina Social Studies Academic Standards adopted in January 2005 provide teachers across the state with a common framework of key concepts that their students will be responsible for during the assessment process.  Teaching American History in South Carolina understands the importance of incorporating these standards into daily instruction.  As a result, the lessons produced for TAHSC rely on local resources to teach the larger themes of history represented in the Social Studies Academic Standards.
