Dorchester in St. George's Parish June 1st 1742

Above is a plan of the town of Dorchester with the names of some of the Present owners inserted
in the lots of N is part of a Parcell of land Granted by the Lords Proprietors Deputys to John Stevens (Now deceas'd) in the year 1696 in two separate tracts being in the Whole 4050 Acres, Which said lands were div'd up for the use of a certain Number Persons. And by their Mutual agreement divided into Lots of Various Quantaties at which time the above Represented Place was laid out for a town, by the mutuall consent of all the Parties then concerned thereon, agreeably to the above Plan, and Titles issued to the then Owners of said lots of various Denominations & Town lots according to Respective Numbers by the Above said John Stevens and said Place hath ever since Been Concidered as a Plan for trade by Said John Stevens & his Heirs & all other Persons there in concerned Testified the day & year above, written by
