Learning by Looking at Artifacts

Fourth grade students try their hand at Archaeology in this lesson.  Although students use images of artifacts from the Special Collections at Clemson Library rather than digging for their own, they are put to the task of uncovering what one of a series of unfamiliar objects was used for in the past.  The students come up with possible uses in groups and then the class votes to accept or reject the different theories.   The active lesson will make sure students remember that we can learn a lot from the objects of the past.
