Let’s Play Ball! Once the Work is Done

Using a 1920's baseball roster from Clemson Special Collection and photographs from the Pendleton Historical Society fifth grade students learn about one aspect of life in a mill town.   The lesson is taught after having discussed textile mills and life in mill villages and gives students a chance to learn about the history of fun.  Students will select a person from one of the photographs, and write a journal entry from that individual’s perspective on life in a mill village.
