Modern English and The Federalist Papers

Help your eighth grade students understand the arguments of the Federalists with this creative lesson.  Select excerpts from The Federalist Papers and hand them out to groups of four students.  Let the students “translate” the document into modern English.  The students then present their translation to the class and by doing so teacher each other about the political stance of the Federalists.
