The Constitution

Talking about the Constitution as the basic foundation of the United States government can include interactive activities. Have your students draft their own “Student’s Bill of Rights.” Come up with a list of qualities every “Good Citizen” should have, and encourage your students to abide by it. Compare the National Constitution with the South Carolina Constitution. You might even want to look at how the South Carolina Constitution has evolved. Make the Constitution more than a document by helping students to see how it affects their daily lives.
