Moncks Corner’s Camp Porcher

Using the National Archive’s Document Analysis Sheet and Photograph Analysis Sheet, twelfth grade students learn about the Great Depression and life in the 1920s and 1930s and the Civilian Conservation Corp.  Students work with photographs, a camp roster, pamphlets, and newsletters from Camp Porcher from the South Carolina Department of Archives and History, the South Carolina Historical Society, the Berkeley County Historical Society, and the National Archives.  Students will complete vocabulary activities and write and produce their own plays depicting life at the camp.
