British Soldiers Stationed in the Colonies Before the American Revolution
Students often hear about the experience of "American Patriot," but what about the other side of the story? In British Soldiers Stationed in the Colonies During the Times Leading to the American Revolution students examine exactly that. The Charleston Museum can provide information regarding the life of a British soldier. Students will learn about the poor living conditions and try to understand what it felt like to be in a hostile environment far from home. Students will then write letters as if they were in the British soldiers positions and write letters to American service personnel stationed in Iraq to see what the experience of war is like today.
