From the Blockhouse to the Desert: The Evolution of the South Carolina Militia
From the Blockhouse to the Desert is a collection of lessons that ties state history to the national scene. Using the Constitution of the United States of America, the South Carolina Constitution, a variety of state and federal militia acts, as well as invitations to current a National Guardsman and a State Guardsman to be guest speakers this unit covers the history of the militia up to the present. The lesson was developed in conjunction with Oconee Station as a historic outpost for the militia.
